HAY AND STRAW PRODUCTS

Hay export

The first shipment of alfalfa hay went out on November 2016, about one year after the company was established. Hay export rapidly grew by 2019, until the year before COVID-19 pandemic. Alfalfa hay is primary export followed by timothy hay. The quality of alfalfa is about 12% moisture, 18% protein ~ up to 22% premium grade. However our customers prefer to the protein +/- 20% for the grade in comparison with price.

Summer inspection and
purchasing trip at hay field

In early June every year, APAC Trade teams up with buyers and visits hay fields to inspect the first cut of alfalfa hay and timothy hay. Buyers can see the color of the leaf, the size of the stem, and touch the softness of the hay with their own hands. Before going to the hay field, we will have a brief meeting to discuss the harvest conditions, annual market price, along with data analysis reports which are out to customers as shown in the photos.

A handful of alfalfa hay was taken out from hay stack covered with tarp. APAC Trade customers carefully inspect the quality of new hay.
